Auckland Choral Ensemble concert "Pamana"

Join the Auckland Choral Ensemble for a special concert that celebrates the stories, traditions, and musical treasures passed down through generations. "PAMANA", a Filipino word that speaks to legacy and the gifts we inherit, captures the heart of this event: music that connects us to our past, to one another, and to the communities we belong to.

Through a rich blend of choral works, folk melodies, and timeless favourites, this programme invites you to reflect, remember, and rediscover the power of shared musical heritage—wherever your roots may be.

Come and be moved. Come and remember. Come and celebrate the music that is our PAMANA.

It welcomes the community, arts supporters, families, youth singers, and wider audiences.

Conductor: Aldwin Anastacio The Auckland Choral Ensemble, was founded in August 2024, inspired by the spirit and camaraderie of the World Choir Games held in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland in July of the same year. Since our inception, we have been committed to fostering a sense of community and belonging among Filipinos and friends of Filipino culture through the universal language of music. We are a dynamic collective of Filipino choristers, including alumni of internationally recognized ensembles and musicians formally trained in voice and choral conducting in the Philippines. Despite our diverse musical and professional backgrounds, we are united by a shared passion for choral artistry and a deep commitment to representing Filipino culture within New Zealand’s rich multicultural landscape. Our vision is to cultivate a vibrant Filipino choir that upholds choral excellence, celebrates and promotes Filipino heritage, multiculturalism, and musical excellence. We aim to achieve this through performance excellence, educational opportunities, collaboration and partnership, support for artists, commissioning of new works, and youth empowerment. We believe in the transformative power of music to build bridges, foster understanding, and uplift communities. To know more about us, follow us in Facebook and Instagram
